The AWANA program would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone for supporting us. Some people have donated materials, some have donated money, and some your time. All these things listed above are very crucial to the program and we could not do it without you. South Elkhorn may be small in numbers, but we are large in love and supportive of each other in everything we do. On Sunday I asked you for your change and in only a few moments the church gave almost $20.00! We are collecting this money to buy Thanksgiving dinner for people who are having financial difficulties. We will be working with Bruno and Sybil and the church they help on Sunday nights, as I understand there is a great need. Sybil has a family that she has talked with us about that could use some help and I'm sure there are more. So the more change we collect, the more families we could help. So dig in your couches, pockets, and jars to help feed the children and families. You may place the change in the turkey located in the vestibule. Again thank you for all you do! As an incentive for the children participating in the program, they can earn points for completing certain tasks, which can then be redeemed at the Awana store. These are items that are needed for the store. Below is a list of items that we are in need of:
- Coloring Books
- Crayons
- Footballs (nerf or regular)
- Basketball (nerf or regular)
- Jump Ropes
- Jack and Ball
- Frisbees
- Bubbles
- Candy
- Bibles (Children's or Adult)
- Pencils
Most of these items can be found at the dollar store!
